Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese contemporary artist working primarily in sculpture and installation. She is famous for using polka dots, for example filling the whole room and its belongings with the pattern of dots. Instead of using the circle form, this room is filled with triangles to make a similar intense effect. Kusama has been open about her mental health: “I followed the thread of art and somehow discovered a path that would allow me to live.”
